Cant sync 2012 Garage Door

Hey All,

Just spent 30 minutes trying to get the damn thing paired and nothing is working. I even reset the garage door and was able to pair the spare remote, the house panel pad, the wife's BMW without any problems.

I have a new Chamberlain with rolling codes and this is what i've tried:

Note: 4Runner homelink has been reset by pressing and holding #1 and #3.

1) Pressed the learn button on the garage door opener, 4runner is right underneath so I quickly pressed the #1 button on the 4runner 3 times each time evenly holding for about 2 seconds. Tried this multiple times exceeding 3 depresses multiple times.

2) Also tried holding down the #1 button on the 4Runner while simultaneously pressing the garage door opener button.

Am I missing something?

do you have keychain remotes? or the traditional block remotes?

I couldn't get my home link to sync with the keychain remotes, but it worked fine with the regular ones.

Try pressing and releasing (not holding down) the #1 button while holding the remote button down close to it.

X2

This is the only way I got my 13 to work. Found it in another thread here. Basically you have to use an existing garage door remote in the process.

I am just throwing this out there due to my experience.

I put a new Chamberlain door opener in and my wife's 2011 Subaru's built in door opener controls were not compatible. Something changed around 2011/2012 in the openers and certain vehicles system's stopped working.

If the above link is not allowed, please delete. But the product above is sold to address what happened with our Subaru and new openers. I was too cheap to buy it and just use the remote that came with the opener in her car.

Also, some(most?) rolling codes will not work right away after learning your remote to the 4Runner. You will then have to learn the 4Runner to the garage door.
In either case you have to get the 4runner to learn the remote. Find a manual and follow the steps, there will be certain led colors to tell you if the process was successful.
