Can't think of a catchy title

Just got back from the 311 show in atlanta, and this being my fourth trip back and fourth from school something has become very apparent while on the road.

i can't really narrow the problem down, but i'll set me cruise at eighty-ish and let it do its thing...occasionally, maybe when going up an incline or downhill, the rpms will be around say 2500...suddenly it'll jump up to 3500 rpm (same exact rpm every time) where it will stay anywhere from 10-20 seconds then it will shift gears and go back down in the mid 2s. if i don't step in and correct it, it'll do it every 10 minutes or so. anywho, long story short has a) anyone ever experienced this problem and/or b) diagnose el problemo!

i believe its the nature of the beast

here the highways have hills so when it hits one, it freaks out and wants to get back to the speed you set so itll rev up high to go above that speed then let off till it gets back down and repeat. its not as violent as that sounds but it does it.

i dont use cruise anymore with the 33's on, because i hate pushing the engine that hard. i never push it beyond 2500 rpms on the highway if i can help it.

yeah when I had my 32s on it would do that constinely but its because the torque is trying to use its current rpms to keep it up to speed but it cant do that so it has to downshift in order to do so.

my honda accord did it too so its not just ours.
