Anyone who reads this mag will find this month that one of their writers, John Phillips, gives props to the T4R (4th gen) as one of his favorite vehicles of all time.

He reminisces about all the good time he had with his, and the adventures he got into.

I'll try to scan it later, but here are some of his choice quotes:


"And, to the question of "could there be such a thing as "the best car in the world? Probably not......Truth is, the car in which I've had the most fun is the Toyota 4Runner. More amazing things have happened to me in 4Runners than have happened since I discovered bourbon."​

"I nosed the Toyota's right-side wheels into three feet of feathery snow on the berm, then, in four-wheel-drive low with the center diff locked, the Toyota descended drama-free to safety."​

He talks about having slept in the back of 4Runners...

"All of this, mind you, in a vehicle riding atop a truck frame with a solid rear axle. Ask Ferrari, Lamborghini, or Bugatti if they have any models so equipped. Go ahead...."​

Yep I read it just couple of days back. Good thing you brought it up. I was very glad to read all the positive experiences he has had with all his 4Runners. I was contemplating sending him a e-mail thanking him for the great coverage.

I subscribe to both since it's dirt cheap ($12 fr 2 years for either). I read that article just a couple of days ago and had to "casually" mention it to the wife to drive the point home :-)

I have had "Subsrcribe to C&D and Motortrend" on my fridge to do list for weeks; instead of dropping $5 on each every month. This just solidified subscription signups!
 
Can someone please post, this is great pub! T4R's really are the best there is...I have never been so obsessed with a vehicle.
 
thats cool he gives dap on 4runners but seriously yall like motor trend and car and driver???? its all about that 4wd toyota owner, truck trend, 4 wheeler, and petersons offroad. Come on guys subscribe to real man magazines!!! haha no offense of course haha:lol::peace:

wheres the diesel power? gotta show love 4 my 06 PSD. lol! I got motortrend, diesel power, 4wheel parts mag, and top gear mag. I used to like TRUCKIN but it all lame now and I really haven't seen an import truck mag or know of one.

diesal power is sick.... i have picked up a few on the rack in the grocery store before... my dad has an f250 turbo diesal and when we stomp it to get on the highway i always smile when i look in the mirror and see black smoke pouring all over the high way:D
