Car brands you've owned that are gone

I was just rolling through my mind all the cars I've owned in 60 years of driving. Then I realized how many brands that are either no longer sold in the US or just plain gone.

Hence the thread.

So, what cars have you owned that fit in these two categories?

Mine:

- MGA, MGTD
- Triumph Spitfire, Triumph TR4
- Austin Healey 3000
- SAAB900T, SAAB900SPG
- Pontiac (2)
- Oldsmobile (Diesel Station Wagon) :-(
- Plymouth (2)
- AMC (2)

My dad worked for GM, so we had a number of Pontiacs over the years. Also had a Saab in the family at one point (garbage).

Since the late 90s, we have been a primarily Toyota/Lexus family and probably won't be going back barring some disaster.

Used to own a 5-speed saturn wagon. Used as a DD. Sold it for more than I paid for it, super easy to work on. Pretty fun to drive because of how light it was, really tossable!

I do miss Pontiac! I have had a few.

80 LeMans got totaled
92 Bonneville Great car til the transmission died.
03 Grand Am Garbage
07 G5 Garbage, never buying GM again...

Believe it or not though, the most reliable car I have ever owned was an 88 Pontiac Sunbird. Handled awesome, good in snow but WEAK engine..

I loved the older ones! Give me a 67 or 70 GTO any day!!! Still my dream car... C'mon Powerball!!!

Dude, that's a sad list.
I never had a desire to own a European vehicle. I have owned Chevys, Jeeps, Dodges and Fords, Toyotas, Hondas and Nissans. My bikes have been Honda or Suzuki. My mountain bikes are Treks, Cannondales or Specialized.

Now, at my age, I will probably just stick with Toyotas and Treks lol.

Pontiac Vibe GT..same motor as the Toyota Celica GT, one of the first engines I believe to have VVT.

Also my first car was a Suzuki Sidekick. What I learned a manual on and that thing was near indestructible.

And then there’s the car I ended up hating so much that (30 years later) I still wish for the brand to go out of existence, in the most hideous way possible:

Would a home-built trike made by welding the front half of a Suzuki motorcycle to the rear half of an old-style VW Bug count? Motorcycle handlebars and front wheel. VW Bug trans, air-cooled engine, and rear axle. Had a school-bus seat behind the motorcycle seat for passengers. Wheelie bar needed to keep from flipping. Unsafe as hell, but man it was fun. Fully road licensed.

Eventually had to sell it once liability insurance became mandatory. No idea why, but we never could find an insurance company willing to cover it.
