Unfortunately I live in an area where people don't know how to drive or park. Some moron was able to brush their bumper up against the side plastic panel on the rear driver side door when they were trying to park in the space next to my truck. The car left some paint on the door but when I rubbed it off I could see the scratches from the brush mark but it didn't seem deep to remove the paint. Is it possible to easily fix this or should I get the person to fix it? There are video cameras in the lot so I could ask the apt manager to see who did it since there are only 2 red cars in the lot.

I'd find out who did it and turn them in to police for hit and run! My bet though is the cameras don't even work. You can buy replacement already painted plastic panels for around $200 - about what it will cost ot have then sanded and repainted, IMHO.

Try something like Meguiar's Scratch-X to buff out the paint left behind from the other car. Before you do, take pictures of the damage(s) to your 4Runner as evidence.

The cladding comes painted and goes for $292.51 at Partznet.

I'll try meguires... it's pretty minor (around 1"x2")so i don't want to waste a cops time on it. I'm pretty sure I know which red car hit me because their front bumper had black paint marks on the front corner of their car. :flamethrwoer2: I just hope I can easily buff it out.

so i talked to my cop friend that lives in the same building and told me to report it as a hit and run... especially since the person lives in our building. I gave her(yes i know it's a female) adequate time to contact me but she already tried to hide it by rubbing the black paint off her bumper... I went out and took pics. :whipping2
