Car shifts into drive with some kick

Don't know if that's a problem, but after owning the car for a month or so I realized that it shifts from neutral to drive (and seems even more when going reverse-neutral-drive) with quite some kick. I have to be really pushing the brakes hard to prevent the car from surging forward.
Can anybody advise?

Is this just due to higher idle when the engine is cold. For first few minutes mine idles high due to the colds start warm up. After its warm the idle drops down by a good 50% to around 5-600 RPM.

Does your 4R kick harder when shifting while not fully warmed up?
