I really need to make a good effort to protect the rear cargo area of this 2016 I traded for 2 days ago. Usually what beats up my prior 4Rs was carrying lock on deer stands, and related bowhunting gear, coolers, etc. For one thing I'm carrying too much stuff on wkd camping/hunting trips, need to trim way down.
It just occurred to me that a simple thin large plywood box might be an idea. Maybe line it with cheap thin carpet, then nothing hard/sharp/abrasive would contact the interior of the cargo area.
I also have a budget Curt full roof rack I hardly ever use. This time I'm going to mount and use it the whole fall/winter season. Should help keep stuff outside, along with a rear hitch platform.
Any other ideas to keep from scratching up the cargo area?
