cargo cover rattle?

I recently removed my cargo cover so I can fit something large in the back. After I was done I put it back on and I assume its on correctly. After noticing how bad it rattles when drive it I tried to install it again and again. Of coarse every time I drive now it makes all sorts of racket like its vibrating and loose.

Is their some sort of trick installing this piece correctly? Before removal it was quiet.

you know, mine does that too but only when it's rolled in, after its out i cant hear it. It is the strangest thing?? but since your's didn't do it before i don't know man sorry

Just make sure its snapped in the mounting brackets. Give it a shake/jiggle and see where the noise is coming from, but remember if you shake it more than once your playing with it!

I will play with it some more and see if i can get it to snap into the mounting brackets. This is exactly what it feels like it should be doing but won't. I tried a few shakes and jiggles already but never got scientific about it. The very philosophy of the man rule of wiggling and shaking to much is likely why I have a problem in the 1st place.

It could be one of the reasons why so many just leave it off. Its the noisiest and annoying bugger when not on correctly and it does not easily go back on as it seems.

My 98 is exposed to a lot of offroad driving, literally everyday from 99-till now. The best way to eliminate rattling in my opinion for that thing is to put a piece of foam or sponge where it latches to the walls.
