Cargo Liner w/ Double Decker Storage

If I order a Weathertech or Huskey cargo liner for the DD Storage which I have in my 4R, how much will it cover when the DD is laying flat? I have a dog that will ride back there and I want as much covered as possible. Should I order the cargo liner as if I do not have the DD or will it just be long and not fit properly. I don't see myself using the DD very much but I just bought the 4R (used 2004) so who knows. Thanks.

Get the Husky Liner if you don't use the double decker at all. The Husky covers from the behind the second row seatback to the hatch and between the wheel wells as well as behind them. The Husky liner is like an inverted "T" shape. IIRC the WeatherTech doesn't cover the tray like areas behind the wheel wells. The WeatherTech is like a rectangular shape.

Cabelas sells a liner that covers not only the bottom but the sides too. It's made out of nylon and is meant for hunting dogs and protects against mud and water from dogs.

I had something similar for a Ford Explorer and I thought it was superior for anyone carrying a dirty dog in the back.

For the weathertechs with DD system...
If you buy the lower deck protection and have the shelf down, there is about 3 inches of exposure between the 2nd row seat back and the weathertech liner. Also, as mentioned, the trays on the sides are not covered.
I too have a dog and the weathertech liner suits me fine, although hair does get between the space. I just vacuum it out every time I wash my car. It's no biggie especially because the tonneau cover bar and the angle of the seat back prevents the dog from getting her muddy/dirty paws in the unprotected space.

I think the WeatherTech liner is designed for use under the DD shelf when it's raised, thus the few inches of exposed carpet when shelf is lowered. WeatherTech also has a liner that goes on top of the shelf when it's raised. I was thinking to myself, I would need three liners in order to use the DD shelf in the up and down position. Two from WeatherTech for shelf up and the Husky for shelf down.

FYI, the distance from the hatch to the rear seatbacks is not the same as the distance from the hatch to underneath the shelf when it's raised. Thus, if the Husky cargo liner is used under the shelf when raised it will bunch up a bit near the rear seats.

I picked up the Huskey cargo liner for 4R's without the DD and it works perfect laying over the DD when it's lying flat on the floor. It lays over everything and covers the entire space, just what I was looking for. I bought gray.

I've seen Uneek's in person, the rear lip of his Husky cargo liner that touches the hatch is higher...so it catches dirt or water better.

Just so I do not order the wrong Hunsky liner, what is the model number you purchased:

25751 or 25762?

Even though I have the DD, I want the longer liner to go over the shelf when in the down position.

This #2575 part number (for 4Runners w/o the DD) makes sense. I was a bit confused since another poster (in a separate thread) was referencing the #2576 as being used on the DD shelf when in the bottom position.

The shelf is raised and the plastic "tray" area behind wheel wells are lower, so the the Husky liner for the double decker option follows those dips on the sides of the shelf.

Pennywise's pictures posted in earlier in this thread illustrates the dips for the "trays". I have the same liner as Pennywise for the double decker option.

Yes, it goes all the way up to the second row seatback when the DD is down and the seatback is up. I just confirmed, the printed model number on my liner is 2576. I think the number posted above is incorrect, but my liner is exact the same. I can take a picture of the model number if needed tomorrow.
