Cargo Mat and Net for 2006

I have a 2006 Sport with the double decker system and I'm getting tired of opening the back tailgate and having a case of shotgun shells slide out and land on my foot. With the deck down, there is a downturned lip at the back edge. Things slide back to the rear and then teeter on the lip until you open the hatch and then, WHAMO it lands on your foot or the pavement. Question #1- Are there two different cargo nets? Mine came with net that lays flat on floor and covers cargo. Accessories catalog shows a net that sits vertically at back opening and you put things inside it. Is this the same net and does it attach at the botom of the opening as well as top. If not, things will still slide out from under it. Question #2-The cargo mat offered has different part nos. depending on presence or absence of double decker system. If I get the one for double decker will it work with double decker in either position as I rarely have it up (the double deck system that is).

For question 1, there are 2 nets -- you have the spider net, and the other is the envelope cargo net. It conects to the D-rings on the floor and to the knobs above. I got one to prevent stuff from sliding out the back, just like you're looking for. Turns out, it's handy, too, for holding the plastic bags you get in a lot of stores....regular grocery sacks will fit between it and the double-decker in the up position.

Can't answer #2 because I have a WeatherTech mat. It fits under the shelf (when the shelf is up), and I use it when the shelf is down -- it's just a little short.

#1 answered above.

#2 If you are referring to the OEM cargo mat (the carpet one), the cargo mat is different for trucks with the DD and without. The mat on trucks with the DD are rectangular in shape and trucks without the DD are T-shaped. The OEM mat will fit underneath the deck as well as above.

The Husky cargo liner is intended to be used with the DD in the lowered position--it covers the entire cargo area from behind the seats to the hatch door and to the sides behind the wheel wells. From what I recall when shopping for liners, you need three different liners for use of the DD up the raised and lowered position (two WeatherTechs for above and below the deck when raised; and a Husky when lowered on top).

To JHarris. Why is the Weathertech mat shorter with the DD down?

To Uneek. I have the carpet mat and the DD system and the carpet mat is T shaped not rectangular so that it fits in the corners behind wheel well. My wife has the Husky liners in the footwells of her Lexus Rx 300 for winter use but if the cargo mat is the same material, it is pretty slippery stuff and I think things would slide around worse than before.

Never mind. I actually went out and studied the situation and noticed that my carpeted mat is also shorter for the same reason. Seems to me that the only difference between the cargo liner for the DD sysytem vs non DD system be it , Husky, Weathertech, Nifty, etc is that the DD version is probably shorter as you said. As I rarely use DD system, it seems I could use the nonDD version except it is going to sit up too high in the corners near the back hatch. Maybe I should just get the net.

You have the part # correct but the photo is not correct. The photo show the "cargo net" part #PT347-89031.

Neon Valley, you are looking for the "Spider Floor Net" Part #PT347-89030. That is the one that lies flat across the floor. I know this because mine came with the vehicle and I had never opened the package until recently. I was disappointed that it was not the one that sits vertically. I am looking at the instructions that came with it and they plainly say "Spider Floor Net" PT347-89030.

Does your carpet mat have two rectangular cutouts on near the back behind the wheel wells for the cargo tie-downs? (My friend's 4R without the DD is like that.) Mine doesn't have cut-outs or cover the area behind the wheel wells, but the mat is a very small T shape, it probably only extends behind the wheel wells by an inch or so to each side.

I'm not sure if the cargo liner is 100% the same material as the floor liners, it's more flexible than the floor liners. I have a pretty big cardboard box (takes up about 1/3 of the cargo area) with maybe about 2lbs of stuff inside, which I normally use to keep groceries from falling out and all over the back, the box doesn't slide around (at least I haven't heard it bang the sides when cornering). The floor liners are almost like hard plastic, although I haven't had grip issues yet (I've read others here say it can get pretty slippery) with the floor liners. But on my Tacoma, the detailer must've wiped them down with something and my god, they were super slick. I couldn't get grip rubbing my feet (wearing sneakers) back and forth on them.

Husky makes three different cargo liners: without the DD and third row, with the DD, or with third row. Autoanything.com shows all three. The Husky liner for the DD, will cover the entire cargo area, from the very edge of the back seats to the hatch and to the sides behind the wheel wells over the trays. There are premarked areas marked for cutting out to expose the (4) cargo tie down hooks. The liner is meant to be used when the deck is in the lowered position. If the back edge is rolled up a bit, it can fit under the deck.

Here's a pic of the liner. It doesn't show the liner behind the wheel wells. I'll get another pic of that if you like. (The car wash soap jug was there to keep the edges down. It's shipped rolled up.)
