Cargo mat for 2015 4runner

Hey guys,

Just thought I would offer up some advice. I ordered the weathertech cargo mat for my 2015 T4R, since I was so pleased with the weathertech floor mats I got- but, to my dismay, it was a piss poor fit.
I ordered it from the dealership and originally thought they ordered the wrong one, due to it fitting so poorly. However they called weathertech and confirmed it was the right part number.
It was a perfect square. It did not have the flared sides-to ensure a flush fit; it might have worked for someone who never gets mud or dirt in the back. So I did more research and the husky liner brand cargo mat was about half the price and a far better fit. Very pleased with the husky liner brand. Definitely disappointed in weathertech. Don't know how they dropped the ball on that one. :wtf:

So come to find out the dealership ordered me the cheaper one? wrong one? Because weather-tech does have the correct, digital fit one. As Patrick77 pointed out on page 2. I should've figured the dealership screwed something up-bc I have been extremely happy with my weathertech products up to that point.

Cargo mats

When I bought my T4R 2015 Trail, I had the dealer throw into the deal rubber floor mats front, rear and back, and they all say 4Runner on them, so I assume that they are standard Toyota parts. They are rugged and every bit as good as any aftermarket mats (or perhaps better - they fit perfectly).
 
I believe that they don't flair them near the tailgate as it would cover up the tie downs and render them useless
 
The husky liners have cut outs for that very reason. I believe the stock rubber mat does as well. I do use them a bit. I do a lot of hunting/ fishing. my ice chests don't leak since i've upgraded them, but the general crud on them and accidental spill every now and then is contained by the husky cargo mat. i know weathertech usually puts out top notch products, but their cargo mat design for the 2015 T4R must have been a horrendous outlier.

I also went with the Toyota brand on both of my 5th gens for the cargo area. Fits perfect and very robust.
 
I had the factory rubber floor mats and rear cargo mat. I bought Weathertech mats and liner. The floor mats are much much much better than the toyota ones. The cargo liner went back. The Toyota cargo mat offered much more protection.

Only part I agree with u is the cargo area. As for the front and rear they are no good compared to weathertech digifit mats.
 
Went with the Husky liner in my 2015 TE. Fit was perfect in the cargo area and passenger areas. Although one of the little twist locks on the driver side was a PITA to get locked in!

No they do not cover the side plastic areas, huskies do. The cut hole damn near defeats the purpose and the sides are plastic anyways. The idea is if you use the tie down, you likely won't have soiled cargo there. I chose the Toyota mat for price, and the lower front lip, I didn't like how high the other lips were at the tail gate. Seems like they would just break and/or prevent me from just brushing stuff out the back without having to life the whole thing out.
 
most likely they ordered just the all weather floor mats and, not the digital fit ones.

price is about $100 for the all weather ones, about $170 for the digital fit ones.

I went with the Husky part no. 25721 direct from Husky. I'm very happy with the fit. It seems better than the similar Husky mat I had in my 2006. I did make the cutouts for the two back tie downs and that seems fine. There are also cutouts for the two forward tie downs, but I've left those alone for now.

With my 2006, I simply cut a slit where the tie downs were and pushed the loop part up through the slit. That worked reasonably well.
 
They gave you the wrong (cheaper?) one. My weather tech cargo mat is a digital fit. Now if I can only figure out how to embed the pictures...

Another option worth considering are canvasback cargo liners. It's not rubber like OEM and weathertech/husky and won't contain any liquid as there is no lip, but has great protection. It fits perfect, and secures to the carpet with velcro. There are liner pieces included that attach to the back of the 2nd row seats and provide full protection when the seats are folded down so you can use the entire cargo area. And since they attach separately to each seat it works perfectly in folded configuration (i.e. if you have just the middle seat folded down, or either of the sides & the middle. This has come in handy lately as I've been hauling filthy tires around.

This is the one I ordered too. Perfect fit. I think the OP ordered the cargo liner for T4Rs with the slide-out cargo tray.
