Thanks for the compliment. Yes, this was built out of cheap plywood that was glued and screwed together and then covered with a cheap indoor/outdoor carpet from HD. Before applying the carpet, however, the whole thing got 4-5 coats of exterior paint for moisture protection. To make it fit as tight as it could, we had to make the top in 2 sections, split down the middle. The center upright support is doubled in order to securely fasten the two top pieces once in the vehicle. I can also report that since installing this, plus some tools in the storage bins, the 4R handles much better for the day to day driving. It is much smoother and less rigid on the bumps than before.

This might not address your organization thing that well but if you're more concerned about safety and getting nailed in the back of the head by a chainsaw or something I just made a net for mine.
I think the thing cost me a total of $40. Went to the army surplus and found some netting the conservation officers use to net caribou. Wove some 5mm static climbing cord through the sides with the front and back being tight across the truck and the strands running lengthways a bit looser to accommodate big slut piles of gear. Put the same 5mm cord on the points where the seat belts connect to the frame and quick links on the corners of the net. Now all you've gotta do is put a cheap climbing carabiner on the front corners and you're good to go.
Save yourself the hundreds/thousands of dollars that this prefab stuff costs and just make it yourself. If you need it to be more organized I'm sure you can find milk crates somewhere.

I like the idea! I gather from your signature that this is a 1st gen? Where did you put the box; blue air hose to an outlet, or the locker? and red disconnect... for jump starting someone, or power outlet for accessories? Just curious about why you added that.
And I would guess that is the main battery there in the box, too? Did that give you room under the hood for anything, or just some extra space?

Yes it's in a 1st gen, but would work in a 2nd, behind the rear seat. Search sunken trunk 4runner, I just stole the idea.
Moved the batteries for more room under the hood, and moving some weight to the rear of the rig. Two batteries, one to start and the other runs everything else. The trunk contains air compressor, RV water pump for shower, 2 batteries and the battery isolator. Two blue air hoses run to the front bumper and rear. I have elockers, so no need to run air to the diffs. Battery Anderson clips for jumper cable disconnect front and rear, front doubles for winch hookup. I have a 400w inverter also tied to the sux battery, not shown. More on my build thread at Yotatech.

I may leave the main battery where it is, and only add the second back there. I'm also toying with the idea if installing a larger amp alternator. But I like your idea of air lines and battery jump plugs run to the front and back.
One hurdle, is that I'm wanting to build a sleep deck/drawer setup. So, I'd have to come up with a way to access the trunk with that.
Or I may build it into the deck. But you've got my brain thinking!
