I'm getting ready to put Coverking mesh covers on the leather in my pickup truck, if that stuff breathes as well as it's supposed to I'll probably use those in the 4Runner too.

As protection or refresh? If the leather is in good shape, I would be worried that the mesh would allow dirt to get trapped in between and the frequent rubbing would jack it up. Maybe they're made so that not much will get through.

It's hosed, split and cracked and torn and utterly done in. Be pretty hard to jack it up any further

I got the covercraft carhartt seatsaver covers as my leather has torn/fadded etc..
The fit is decent, I don't get as sweaty as with the original leather, and they aren't that difficult to install/remove for cleaning
Also got the covercraft seat heating kit, which is good so far (seems quality and good heat output), except the cabling between seat back / bottom isn't long enough to allow the carhartt seat cover (seatback part) to velcro closed on both sides... so not ideal, although the cover stays in place fine as the fit is good. I've contacted covercraft, hopefully will hear back.
Might need to DIY a short male/female extension if all else fails, if anyone happens to know the spec on the seat heat pad connectors
