Thats enough to make your stomach turn. But I guess thats what they call battle scars and it can all be repaired. Just hope you were having fun while you were doing it!

BTW - Where were you wheeling in that picture?

Lee, I've always admired your truck so these pictures made me wince. What exactly did you hit???

long story short, i was leading on a trail that has barely ever been run (its a newly cut trail on private land which we had permission to run).

i was trying to get up a steep rock, then up 2 smaller ones.

well when i got up over the steep rock, it kicked out from under my rear tires and essentially got me all hung up. everything i tried to get out didnt work, and part of trying to get out pushed me into a tree denting my rear door and then running down my truck knocking the 2 flare pieces out :(

its ok though i will be replacing them and popping the dent out.

its part of wheelin!

How's that dishonest? The bad part of claiming it tho' is that most insurance companies dink you more since you did it off road but it still is covered,at least my insurance covers anything I do off road.

i hnever looked into offroad coverage, i more meant by claiming it happened onroad and saying it was hit and run or something :)

I figured that's what you meant and according to my Farmers agent I'm automatically covered but you do pay the penalty if you do major damage and you have to claim it. I think you have what is the equivalent to a solo collision accident which is your fault on your driving record and of course your premium will go up.

that sucks lee, that REALLY sucks... would a winch have helped you get out with out body damage? or were you screwed no matter what?

the damage happened early on in my attempts to get up the hill... the winch wouldve helped me by preventing other damage that happened when i got pulled (the bolts that go through the lower bj into the spindle all failed after i got slammed into a rock).

the bolts are 94 cents each, what cost me money was a day of renting a car because the dealerships do not stock them, and the closest dealer that had then was in NY :(

i do not have to replace the lower bj, but im choosing to because it cant hurt and will make sure i have everything done the right way.

i did some work on her

here it is before

and a little better after...

i will try some work with a pops-a-dent next

and yes, my tjm is pointing north, i hit it hard and it moved on the bolt holes. just need to loosen and readjust. its straight at least.

hey man youre making my turkey come up.

Well at least you have a Christmas List eh???

good wheelin Lee
