Carolinas forest service roads

I went to Pisgah National forest this past weekend, found some gravel/dirt forest service roads to run on to get to the campsites. Pretty fun to run these at speed. I learned that when at 12:20PM on Sunday, I forgot to set my fantasy football lineup and had to rush down the trail out of the forest to an area with cell phone reception to get my line up set. Got it done with 4 minutes to spare, and it was well worth it. I won this week,

The road I think was called Yellow Gap Rd. Anyone heard of it?

I was wondering if anyone knows any other forest service roads nearby I can do some light offroading on?

I will have to look into it! I have been wanting to find some service roads near Charlotte to have some fun on, but the closest thing I could find would be Uwharrie...

Uwharrie is pretty close, but I thought they only had real trails, not gravel/dirt service roads?

From what I have seen/read online there are lots of service/gravel roads that go around the trails. And the trails range from easy (stock T4R 4X4) to extremely rocky and difficult (extended travel + lift).

Check out some of the dual sport posts and videos. They seem to find some pretty good routes that are between gravel and rougher trails.

Havent driven it but im up for a trip if interested. May be a bit narrow.

ill be going around some of the roads near Pisgah.. working my way down from Blowing Rock through Globe rd to 90 then working west to Mortimer NC and finally looping back to Grand Father Mountain... any takers or others who have used these roads?

I will be going to Uwharrie this weekend also if you want to meet up before hand. I actually took off next week from work so will be going out on Saturday the 7th and coming back next Wednesday. Let me know if you are interested.
