Carpet replacement....

Thinking about bribing a buddy or two into helping me replace the carpet in the 99. Its stained,torn,fuzzy, has tumbleweed and stinks lol....I'm sure someone here has done it. What were the issues you guys ran into besides rusty bolts and cracking trim pieces? I found the entire kit for 315 bucks on ebay, but may do it in pieces.

Much cheaper if you only do the passenger area btw. R&R'ing carpet is a cake job, from a technical perspective. Super satisfying as you'll end up with a nearly new interior.

I did the stockinteriors.com as well. Only issue I had were two seat anchor weldnuts breaking free. Soak those puppies in PB Blaster beforehand, or you will have to drill through the floor and use a longer bolt like I did. You need a nice new blade in your utility knife as you have to make all of the cutouts yourself. The cut around the console is kind of tricky, especially at the rear heater vent.

I am very happy with the results. I went with the Jade green color in my IJM truck. I hate stinkin' beige. Most useless damn color in the spectrum. It should be banned from all usage except sand.

Yeah im thnking about doing black carpet...I have the lame beige as well!
Im pretty sure i'll have to drill out at least a few bolts as this was a PA truck for part of its life lol. As far as cutting im ready for that too...did a full carpet in a buddied jeep grand cherokee once and it was like a foot wider on each side and didnt have any holes cut it.

yeah since im considering swapping colors i may do the entire thing.
