caster out; cam's maxed

riding about what I imagine is the 99 “highlander” stance.

Kinda funny, seems like when lifted we end up chasing for more caster to help clear bigger tires... and aftermarket UCA’s to replace lost caster. I’ve got the opposite problem at the moment

any plans to get UCAs? i can tell you they certainly help with driveability when you lift your vehicle. assuming thats what a 'highlander stance' is.

I don't see the need for UCA's until we get into a lift... its planned/hoped-for but I'm focusing my attention on the deferred maintenance I inherited. Would they help to provide a reduced caster adjustment? I think Charlie probably has the best theory that something is out-of wack, bent or something as we've got the cams maxed-out just to maintain stock specs with stock suspension.

On the Highlander... The '99's had the tallest factory setup and they offered the fabled "highlander" edition... so its not technically lifted but does sit about 3/4" higher than it did on the original gear which was likely sagging a bit.

I took measurements with the hopes of being a good contributing forum member but can't seem to find them.:doh:

oh thank you. i see. in your picks it looks like you are lifted more than that. at 3/4" you should be fine with stock UCAs.

i agree, probably something bent or just messed up. has the car ever been in an accident?

Supposedly not, bought from my sister in-law so almost as good as a single owner vehicle... just wasn't me deciding maintenance etc.

Some closure... [MENTION=90352]UnderFire[/MENTION] had the right advice. Ditch that shop!

Took it elsewhere and the drivers castor was at -0.2 not the +2.9 the original shop and their alignment machine showed.

It could be possible that alignment rack at the other shop was off. Taking it to another shop who possibly had a more better rack solved the problem.
