Cat converter theft?

ive heard about this, but i just make sure im not in 'bad' areas and keep my car in areas that are hard for thieves. so im not worried.

I've heard about this. I just graduated from THE Kent State University in Kent, OH, and I recently went back for a halloween party. I got an email from the KSU PD saying there have been a group of college kids stealing cat converters off cars. If I still had the email I would copy and paste it, but it said these kids were stealing them off SUV's and trucks because they're easier to get under. It also said they were PRIMARILY looking for 4RUNNERs... so I definetly parked the runner off campus that night.

EDIT: I couldn't find the email but I found the article... http://media.www.kentnewsnet.com/me...c.Converter.Thieves.Strike.Kent-3507300.shtml

That thing looks pretty easy to build. I wonder if there is a way someone with enough patience and time could come up with one and put it in the do it yourself section. Any cable that cant easily be cut would work. It would def be worth saving $300
