Where are the cats located in a 2007 limited 4wd 4.7. Wanting to remove one for a louder exhaust.

Preferably one that is easier to get to.

Well the manifolds on my 03 have cats, then they y together then there is another cat after that.. so the last is the easiest but you'd have to finish the rest of the exhaust after that

live action!!

I think there are 4 cats total on the V8, but unless you modify the o2 sensors, there are only 2 cats that are easy to replace; just after the o2 sensors.

I have no regrets removing my rear 2. It had a similar maybe slightly lesser effect as removing the rear resonator on the tailpipe. Completely cold starts sound pretty sick. I noticed it droned more at 40mph though, but I don't really care.

Did yours probably throw a code? How do you solve that issue?

I feel like if you don't know where the cats are or that they need to be cut off and a piece of pipe welded in you really shouldn't be doing it. You might find a shop to do it, explain you want the cats after the O2 sensors removed, but that's it. California spec has 4 cats total, 2 which can be removed without issue, non-cali spec have 3 cats total, so only 1 could be removed.
