Cat urine remover, for rims???

I tried the search and found no luck so I'm gonna post my question.

I have a serious problem with my neighbor's cat. For about a year (which is about the time that cat was adopted) I've been smelling urine odors in my garage at certain times. At first I thought it might have been from the previous owner of the house, and the dog or cat marked their spots. Today, I found the culprit of it all, my neighbor's cat. While I was washing my 4Runner, I had my GX across the street. I saw the cat piss on my rim! I scared him off, but when i was putting the GX back in the garage, the cat pissed on my 4Runner rim.

Hearing experiences from my dad, the urine causes steel wheels to rust. That'll be the problem of my Odyssey. Now the 4Runner and GX are a different story. Does the urine cause any damage, rust, corrosion, or anything on alloy? And also, I don't know if the 4Runner's rim is alloy or what, but it looks kinda chromy, but it isn't real chrome. Will the urine cause any discoloration or anything to my 4Runner rim?

I'm looking around for some solutions that may deter the cat away from my rims. Is there any chemical that I can spray on all my rims so the cat wouldn't urinate on them anymore???? Any suggestions will be helpful as this is a current major problem. Thanks. PLEASE HELP! :awais:

Get a dog.

Your 4Runner's rims are alloy too, just that they have a machined/polished face that gives it a semi shiny appearance. Other than hosing off the rims and keeping it clean, I'm not sure what else you can do.

Seriously tho, there are products at pet stores that supposedly deter animals from going in places, but i would think your rims would be a lost cause for the stuff. Being exposed to the outdoor elements would most likely wash it away. But you could try it. Hosing the rims off should be enough to make sure they dont corrode.

Talk to the neighbor about it, is the cat neutered? Isnt it something like male cats that arent neutered spray all the time? Maybe they need to fix the cat.

I dont know if the cat is neutered. I doubt it since it lives outside. As much as I want to talk to my neighbor about their cat I dont want to suggest something that might offend them or be an issue with them. Looks like the pet store's my best bet. I have to put that odor stuff on all three cars.

Dude, I had the same M*****F***ing problem with my neighbor's feline. You have get down to Camper's World and get you some tire covers. My neighbor across the way cut some quarter inch plywood squares to lay up against his tires at night.
That wouldn't work for me as the wind tend to blow them down after a few days. I travel away for a week at a time often. The black tire vinyl tire covers work great. They are made for motor homes, campers, etc. The sizes go all the way up to 19" tire sizes. Got the 17" and it done the trick after a few months.

Good luck.....but do something because cat piss will stain and ruin your aluminum rims. The piss will turn to a greenish, stinky residue which can NOT be removed without destroying your rims.

get a bb gun, or I've heard of people using cheyann pepper to stop cats from pissing on furnature...

Dude who cares if you offend them, their cat is destroying your personal property. Just talk with them nicely and ask if the cat is fixed, then recommend they do it since it is peeing on your stuff.

It will be a lot cheaper to fix the cat than replacing your rims when you prove to them its their cat that did it.

Fixing the cat won't necessarily stop the urine spraying, especially a mature cat, he's already developed the habit.

You should talk to the owners, after all, people are liable for damages done by their pets.

I have two big dogs. No cats or squirrels on my property.

get a raccoon trap, bait it, and when you find the cat, take some flourescent orange spray paint and tag his a$$ then let him go... or just take the cage and throw it in a large body of water... that works too lol... just kidding about killing it
