Catalytic Converter Stolen!

Today while at college of all places, My cat was hacked out and stolen from my pride and joy. I will be getting a new one from Toyota tomorow and I am wondering if you guys know any good preventitive measure to prevent this from happening again?

Because accoring to the campus police officer this is the 32nd one since start of the school year. Another worrying bit is that when i told him my CAT was stolen, he looked at me and sad "you must have a Toyota truck huh?"

Have you seen how much Toyota wants for a catalytic converter? Prepare yourself.

You can just go get an aftermarket one at the parts house, sure the exhaust won't be as clean, but if you aren't in Commiefornia it won't matter

Yea. You could probably buy another 4runner that runs after oem parts and labor.

Actually I'm in Arizona. And thanks guys ill sift through all of those suggestions.
If not any of those ill just put a skid plate over that area so no part of the cat is exposed.
The Toyota service center in scottsdale close to where I live is doing the work. Thankfully insurance covers most of it and my parents are graciously helping with the cost.
I originally thought to get a magnaflow because I already have a muffler and tip from them. But my dad wanted me to with original toyota parts. The portion I'm paying equates to parts and labor of an aftermarket and he helping with the rest. So if yes paying majority he decides what goes on. I just need to make sure this one stays on.

Side note* I thought the aftermarket muffler was loud. But this?! Good lord, it sounds like a Trophy truck or something haha

Be glad he insisted on Toyota, the magnaflow I used on my old IS300 was a rattly POS in less than 6 months. There is a reason they are cheaper.

look at budbuilt skid plates, i think me makes them in aluminum now as well as the thinner 1/8" steel.
