Catalytic converter thefts

I have designed and built a steel cage just for the toyota trucks catalytic converter, i call it the catcage all steel welded to the frame with a lockable door. If the pipe is cut on both sides the cat stayes inside the cage !! Because all 4runners dont have the same catalytic converter i have nine different cages built if you find or know of someone in need email me @ [email protected] most cages run about $225. that would have been great to know about a month ago.. Someone stole my cat recently and I was blown away by it.. never heard of anyone stealing someones cat before.. (nice clean cut on both sides of the pipe).. so this cage will trap the cat inside if its dropped?

here in santa fe nm we have a big problem with cat theft. dealers and the police dept have a program to etch an ID on it. not sure if they are putting your license plate number or what on them. the program is free.

Not sure it will make any difference. First the thief is in a hurry and probably won't notice the etching. Second they are after the minerals inside of it, the case will be discarded anyway.
