Someone stole my Catalytic converter from my 4Runner

It is a 98 4Runner, V6....

Does anyone know how much it costs to replace?

He's a '98. No Cali. exhausts. There was Cali. emissions, but the difference was only in the evaporative emissions, not exhaust. That started in '99.

Installed myself without any issues. Paid $403.99

Best lead was the Autozone one, but they wont ship it to California.

Y'know, even if it's 5 years old, I'm glad this thread got bumped. Living in Chicago, people steal cats everyday (usually utility trucks/vans or Jeeps, but T4Rs aren't immune). My guy here said replacement of the second cat on my 2002 OEM was upward of $1,000 - nice to know Magnaflow has a decent option to consider.

Back when Platinum was almost $2000 an ounce and Paladium was over $1000, people were stealing cats left and right. I was lucky, someone stole a cat from another Toyota in my parking garage but graciously spared mine. That was back in 2010-12.

It has definitely slowed down on thefts since then. Best theft-proof things you can do is to get your cat etched (makes a buyer less like to accept the stolen cat) as well as have it welded on instead of bolted, install/weld theft deterrents, etc.
