Has anyone ever put a sensor delete/dead head on there catalytic converter? The dealer wants $2300.00 to replace them, so I was wondering about other, much less expensive options.
Any help would be much appreciated!
What are you guys using as a gauge that your catz need replacing? the only car truck I ever knew of that needed the catz replaced was my grandparents Cougar needed tehm when they collapsed and the car wouldnt even start due to extreme backpressure.
When the cats are truly bad, the oxygen sensors will tell you. But the tricky thing there is that the oxygen sensors themselves can go bad, which might lead people to think the cats are bad. So you need to make sure the oxygen sensors are good before you replace what you believe is a bad cat.
Good info, I've had many O2's go bad in cars over the years, my 94 civic had 3 over its life but never a cat.
the 02 sensors are just electrical sensors that can be "fooled" with resistors. People do this all the time with02 simulators. I dont have any info for you though, but I'm sure it can be done.
