I just got a CB for my truck and i cant seem to find a suitable place to install it. I can't put it in the dash because the speaker is on top and i wont be able to hear it. I had it mounted on the floor beside the shifter but it got covered in mud when i went offroad. The roof is also outa the question because of the sunroof. So any tips or suggestions would be appreciated thanks.

I have a '90 and I have my CB mounted on the passenger's side of the stick shift. I just took the screws out of the plastic molding, lifted it up a bit to make sure nothing was behind it and screwed the mounting bracket right in.

I preferred it as far back towards the seat as possible. I haven't had a passenger complain yet as it is my daily driver as well. Most people don't even notice it.

It's easy to run the wire straight back under the plastic and up to the dash.. all out of sight.

GOOD LUCK.

I was just thinking about this. I too have a 90, and was considering putting in below my head unit since my is a DIN sized head, not the oem double DIN. Unfortunately it was to long and hit the duct work behind the dash. So if your CB is a wider rather than long unit, try the free DIN space.

Obviously it depends on what CB you have but I mounted my Uniden in the ashtray section :D
