CB / PA radio

So i am looking to get all of this. About how much money should i expect to spend? And can i get recommendations on what to buy? I have no idea what to get. I Want a good cb but it doesnt have to be greatt. thanks!

First, you definitely get what you pay for.

A decent, strong radio that is worthy and reliable,... look no further than an older Cobra 148GTL or Uniden GrantXL or 76XL ('Big Radios'). Make sure they are made in the Philippines as these can be expanded if you carry a proper license to operate on other frequencies. The General Lee and Connex 3300 models are reputable too, but have echo and reverb to alter your audio. I am partial to the Uniden boards, great strong audio with the right mic (Astatic) and no squirrely toys to screw up how you sound.

Your radio is only as good as your antenna and the place to where it is mounted. Longer and higher is better, so consider a 102' SS whip. If you want something shorter, go with a Wilson mounted antenna somewhere,... NOT a Firestick (although these are durable with their plasti-coating).

You'll get a lot of opinions here, on this-and-that, and 'what small amp to buy', but I have been very satisfied with my set-up and it gets-out with no hassles or criticisms from other drivers.
