CB Radio Installed

Finally got around to taking pictures of the CB radio installed. Thanks to everyone for their help, especially A10MileHusker, PaulSula, and 4runr30 for his amazing write-up on his install.

Still have to meet up with a friend to get the antenna tuned, but seems to be working alright for now. I'll possibly look into a 1000 or 5000 antenna with the short load adapter in the future, but this is fine for now.

Install wasn't too difficult, took about 3 hours total including all of the drilling and wiring. Only snag was the the antenna cable wasn't long enough for the location I wanted, so had to make a run up to Radio Shack on Christmas Eve to spend a ridiculous amount on an adapter with an extension cable because they didn't have the right piece in.

Next interior mod is a direct input ipod cable, but they look to be about $160 for the JBL system, and that is money I don't have.

Looks good man!

That spot on the passenger side seems to be one of the preferred mounting locations for the CB Radios, I can see why.

Nice job!

Thanks!

4runr30 had his PA speakers in a slightly more ideal location directly behind the bumper, but since I have a V8, the transmission/engine oil cooler/whatever it is in front of the main radiator in that location kept me from doing it there. I'm sure I'm probably getting muffled sound having it behind the headlight under the hood, but it was the only place I seemed to have room.
