Cb radio opinion???

I have a cobra 29 night watch and as most of you cb users know, it's a big radio. There's really no convenient place to put it without some type of cutting or trimming, etc. I'm looking for a compact radio but with good features. On the cobra website I was looking at the cobra 25 lx. Is anybody using this or know someone who is or has? If so, what's your opinion on it as far as the features and the size of the radio? Would like to see a picture of where you have it mounted if possible. Thanks in advance

Always just wedged mine between passenger seat and center console. But I don't have the need for a permanent mount. So it works for me.

Going from a cobra 29 to a 25, I was not thrilled with the noise filtering. My 25 sits in a drawer now. I put my 29 vertical on the back of the center console, covering the rear ash tray. Awkward to change dials while driving there. It works

Why not mount in in the dash under the radio? :thumb3: It can be done... I have pictures a small amount of trimming is needed, but It looks great after. I will dig up the pics after work.

I have the Cobra 75WXST and all you need is a little box (like 2x3x2) and put it behind the dash. It's all in one piece so you can run the wires and just leave it. I'll take pics in a bit.

i just bought the Midland 75-822.. juts plug into the cigg outlet.. voila! lol.. and grab a magnet to throw up top if you need more range than a mile

I have this and love it. I mounted the control box behind the dash, and put the plug here...

It's KINDA tough to get it plugged in unless you have skinny fingers, but for the few times a year I use it, it's perfect.

When not in use I have it in my center console.

You mean a full-size Cobra 29 where the ashtray/cig lighter is? I'd love to see pictures, I was curious whether or not that would work. I'd love to put a 29 LX in there. It'd be cool to retain the cig lighter and relocate it to the recessed empty area below its current location.

No it would go under the radio if you had a single din setup.

I like that. How does it sound or are you running an external speaker? What did you use for mounts?

it could stand to be alittle louder, especially on the highway. I was thinking about just plugging into my radios aux in. I did alittle bending and dremeling on the factory mounting brackets nothin fancy.
