So i recently bought drifter33's cb antenna mount here:
http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/80673-cb-ant-mount.html

I picked up a Midland CB for cheap on amazon (It has really good reviews, I promise)
Amazon.com: Midland 1001Z 40-Channel CB Radio: Electronics
and
a Firestik firefly
Amazon.com: FireStik FL4-B Four Foot FireFly antenna with tuneable tip (Black): Electronics
and a spring for it
Amazon.com: SPRING SHOCK SS HD UP TO 5': Electronics

Now the question is, does the spring screw right into the antenna?

Do I just buy a cable with two pl259 ends? I don't want to go to the truck stop and pick up the wrong one..

I am not a pro on CB antennas, but as for the coax, try a place like Thomas Distributing. They sell high quality Beldin RG-8x coax with Amphenol PL-259's soldered to each end. That makes for the best cable you can get, and it's probably cheaper than at the truck stop.

I solder my own but use the same coax and connectors.

I was planning on picking it up some place local next weekend, thats why I had said the truck stop. Amazon is unhelpfully indescriptive. I guess what I am asking is, does teh antenna I bought have a female pl259? How do I connect it ot the radio...

From what I see the firestik does not have a SO-239 connector on it (female end). It will screw into the spring and then you will probably have to run a ground wire off the antenna to the frame. Looks like from the pictures I can see, you mount a SO-239 to the bottom of the antenna mount, if it doesn't already have one.

The antenna is the most important part, make sure you check the SWR's and have a very good ground, otherwise you may as well use 2 cans on a string.

How do I mount a SO-239 on there? Where do I solder the ground to the antenna?
