CB Radio Selection

After a couple searches, I was able to find one CB that looks like it fit pretty well in the dask of the 3rd gens. It replaced the ash tray, which is useless to me anyway. However I am sure I did not see all of the set-ups out there, and would like to set my rig up with a CB for wheeling and longer road trips.

If possible, could you post the model of your radio and a photo of it installed?

96 4Runner, Cobra 18WXST II, needs an ell connector for the coax to fit

I second the Cobra 18WXST II, however I did not need/use the 'L' connector. Prob wouldn't hurt to use one though. Bolts right in with the factory metal brackets.

I have a double din dvd/navi/radio deck and I want to do a CB install I was also thinking about using the ashtray for this. If anyone has a ashtray CB pics please post thanks

If I ever actually do get around to getting a CB, I will be getting the Cobra 75 WX ST.

For me, looks means everything when it comes to my 4Runner, and the ability to disconnect the mic and make it look like I do not even have a CB when I do not need it, is priceless.

i also 3rd the Cobra 18WXST II its the best CB out there for the price IMO it gives you a great CB, plus 10 NOAA weather radio channels that to me are priceless or invaluable tools for long trips, overlanding, expeditions or even just weekend camping trips. i have them in all my trucks, and i have convinced the sheriffs office to put them in all of our SAR vehicles and patrol trucks & SUVs.




i didnt use the ash tray as the radio is too big for that slot, but sense the previous owner had already hacked up the lower tray in the center dash for his el cheapo CB i just put the 18WXST II down there.
