Here you go guys!
These are the pictures CBI posted on Facebook. I never made it to get it today. Got trapped on the side of the highway with a bad tire on a uhaul truck...
@CBI do we have a price for this bumper? Is it much lighter than a typical bumper? VERY interested just trying to find a light weight option.

I'm very late too. I'm really interested in the tube rear bumper. I figure for the price of a plate bumper, I could get a tube front and rear AND a winch. I also like the "light weight" look of the tube bumpers.
I suppose when I'm ready, I'll call CBI and see if they can still fab up a tube rear with swing outs.
FWIW, CBI sent me an email stating they'd still make the hybrid rear bumper with swingout, but the price climbed a bunch since this thread first started. I'm assuming it is since they don't consider the hybrid bumper a standard offering.
My original quote was $699 for the base hybrid bumper, and now it's $1099.

Much more expensive but probably still cheaper than a full plate rear bumper. I still like the look and cost!
My only question is the departure angle. It looks like the entire stock rear bumper remains; true? If so, that means the departure angle is actually worse than stock. I'd have to decide on the pros versus cons: increased utility at low cost vs decreased maneuverability. Or, pony up and buy a plate bumper.

Does anyone make anything like this that you can buy now?So I've been getting a few questions about my rear bumper which you can find on my build http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/140135-shallcallhimtim-build.html so I thought I would build a thread for it.
So in November when CBI had my truck to design and fit the 4th gen ditch lights, Nathan and I started talking about a light weight rear bumper for the 4th gens. Now most of yall know that there is a big stupid cross member in the rear making it really hard to get a close fitting high clearance rear bumper without cutting the cross member out. It was time to beef up my rear end anyway since I kept getting rear ended and backed into during snow storms up here.
This bumper is super light weight! I would call it maybe 80lbs max! I can curl this thing with one arm and put it on the truck by myself. It is all 120wall tubing so this thing will take a hit. From what I know there isn't a swing out designed for this but that isn't really that hard. Im actually about to start building one here soon just waiting on some parts.
The main reasons for this thread is for feedback and ideas I can share with CBI so they can get this into production. Please share any input you guys have! Thanks!!

This is the structure of the bumper. It mounts up just like a frame mounted hitch and CBI rear plate bumper.

Not that I know of. CBI made this bumper for a little while and no one really showed much interest in cutting the plastic so I didn't sell very well.
