CBI Skid Plate Install

Hey Dudes,

Here's an option for skid plates to protect your drivetrain. CBI Off Road Fab makes some pretty nice skid plates and [MENTION=102606]infamousRNR[/MENTION] and I made a video of installing them on my 98.

Appreciate the video. Does the CBI skid plate cover the sides of the radiator and the LCA cam bolts? Didn't find a good picutre showing this when I googled it & CBI's website doesn't show a picture of it installed. I tried to look for it in the video but couldn't get a good look at that part.

Recently started looking into skid plate options & CBI along with Savage, Front Range & Budbuilt have got my attention. I may take Budbuilt off the list because the front portion is one large piece which is great to decrease potential rattling but would be a pain to remove.

I highly suggest RCI...very user friendly...extremely easy / fast install.

Savage skips has better front approach angle, more slim and follow the frame rail up up.

I initially considered RCI but noticed the radiator and LCA bolts were exposed.

The main thing that I like about Savage is that it seems like it would be easier to install/remove since it's multiple pieces. Still considering front range, CBI & Budbuilt.

Jaysen did you have any issues with transfer case contact? I had to space mine down an inch to avoid mine from rubbing. I’m suspecting a sagging transmission mount and engine mounts.

I haven't notice anything noise or contact. I know its close but not sure if it actually contact once I drive.

For the CBI skid, it hit the stock small skid plate on the transfer case so I removed the stock plate and now there's a little clearance between the lowest point of the transfer case and the CBI skid.
