CD error on 03 Sport V8

I'm sorry if this is a repost. I have found alot of useful information on how to remove the stereo/cd.

I currently have it out and the cover of my JBL 6 changer CD off. The unit does not even try to move. I currently have 3 CD's loaded into it, and the #2 CD is flashing on the front screen. I was getting a ERROR 3 code, any ideas what to look for?

It worked

Thank you for the thread link. I'm not sure what I did, but after taking the cover off and moving the Cd's around, blowing compressed air into it and having a cold beer, it worked!

It wasn't too hard getting the radio out, you just have to take your time. There are 4 screws that hold the radio in, and I put the 2 lower screws back in before I put the air/heater controls on, and that was a mistake, so I had to take that back off because it didn't seat right, other than that, it was a good learning experience. Thanks again for your help.

It could be the cold weather also. I have the Scion T1804 and it got down into the upper 20's here in so. Calif for the first time since I had this truck. Today my CD told me a CD was in when there really wasn't. I kept turning unit on/off and then finally stop the truck and turned off the key. Moved key to ACC, inserted the CD and then started the truck. It worked but from the complains on this forum and over on platform 120, I believe Toyota's CD units do NOT respond well to cold weather or other adverse conditions.

I have an 03 Ltd and had the same problem with the ERROR-3. Unfortunately, after air and other methods of correction, I couldn't alleviate the problem. Repair from a shop in FL was running $275+. Ebay had quite a few models. I picked up an '06 from California, from a dealer model that was upgraded to A/V aftermarket... for $150.

Anyone that has extensive trouble repairing the error (minus a stuck CD, etc)... should check out getting a replacement from ebay. I was recommended to try this from another member in the other "big" JBL error post... and it worked great. Install was a breeze... and the '06 has MP3/WMA capability.
