My 2015 Limited with about 66k on just threw the following code on my drive home from work today;

P2610
ECM/PCM Internal Engine off Timer Performance.

Has anybody else had this issue, if so what was the result. Vehicle is still under warranty and have an appointment for Monday. I’ve searched and found a couple other members on here have had this code but didn’t give any updates.

Definitely sounds like the PCM is going out. Make sure to bring all of your keys to the dealer. If they swap out the PCM, they'll need to reprogram all your keys.

Engine Control Module either requires a re-flash or replacement. Most likely replacement. Wow, glad I took an extended warranty on the 4Runner.

Make sure you do not clear the code and explain to the service rep the diagnostic fee must be waived if the repair is under warranty.

Good-luck!:thumb3:

Ok will do, thank you.

Yeah, I wasn’t planning on clearing the code. Hopefully they just replace it. Haven’t had this issue on any of my previous 4Runner’s.

Just an update;

Got my 4runner back from the dealer a couple days ago. Dealer stated they did a software update and reprogrammed my ECU.

So far no issues.
