So i recently threw a check engine light with the code P0141 O2 sensor heater circuit malfunction bank 1 sensor 2. tried cleaning the MAF because my brother had a similar issue with his tacoma and the light came back on. I realize this is the o2 sensor after the cat right? I plan on replacing them both but i was hoping someone could shine some light on the the ease of doing so, the cost (best place to buy them?), and also if it fixed the problem or not. Thanks in advance you guys are always very helpful!

I bought mine at URD.com best price I found on line! sometimes they are cheaper on ebay but they are not the denso brand witch are the best quality you can get. I got my afr sensor for 167.00 better than the dealers price of 386.00 not including install. I got the denso o2 sensor for 67.00.as for the installation have not done that yet.

I will recommend URD also. Fitting them is very easy, just remember to make sure your exhaust is cool before starting. :D

Also, make sure you know if your 4Runner is Cal. spec emissions or not before you order the sensors.

thanks for the info, i never thought to look at URD's website. I was very surprised that the O2 sensor was only $85. However, I couldnt find the AF sensor on their website, part number 234-4162. Im assuming I'm better off getting both sensors and doing them at the same time?

If the error code had indicated a bank to lean then cleaning the maf would have been a good place to start. The oxygen sensor itself has a heater in it because in order for them to work correctly they have to be up to a certain temp. The oxygen sensor that is after the cat is there to strictly tell the system the cat is either working or not. The oxygen sensor before the cat is the one that actually tells the ecm what is going on with the fuel mixture level.

alright thanks for clarifying that for me. Im just going to replace them both while im at it. hopefully this will explain why my gas mileage has been much worse lately without even going wheeling or having the 33's on!
