There is this book, and I can't remember where it is located in the 4Runner, but it has some mexican dudes name on it, I think his name was Juser Manuel or something like that (dunno know why they named that book after him but I digress) and it tells you all these fancy things about the settings in this here car. It really is cool, it even has one of them breakdowns in the front that shows which page to turn to. That Juser Manuel guy must have been a pretty smart cookie...
Hello, I have a 4Runner in Panama, but am used to the temperature being in Fahrenheit. Does anyone know how I can convert to Fahrenheit from Celsius? I can see the "F" is there, but it's not lit, so I know it is pre-determined to be able to do it.
Thanks!!

Very funny, Aggie - I have a Manual in both English and Spanish, and it doesn't say how to do this...thus, the reason for my question. Being that you are so clever, instead of wasting your time and sending a hilarious email, you could have reviewed your "Juser Manuel" and seen that. Next time, don't bother replying, unless you are going to provide a solution or a meaningful comment. :AK47:
I thought this was the reason for this forum, to ask questions and get answers, and share experiences. So dumb of me...I apologize
The 4th generation has the same restriction -- you could not change the reading. There are some threads discussing the issue, but the net is that no one has found a way to convert the display.Update for you guys: At the dealer yesterday with there computer hooked up turning things off and on. We could not find a way to change the temperature display mode in Fahrenheit to Celsius or vice verse. We looked through most of the sub-menus to no avail. We could change the units for volume from gallons to liters and distance from miles to kilometers but not the temperature units.
I really wish that we (e.g. us owners) could get a copy of that software program so that we could just hook up to our 4R's and adjust things over time as we see fit.
