How did you get anyone to do 50% tint on your windshield? It looks really cool but seems like a sure fire way to attract cops. And how is it driving at night?

Ive had it done to the last 4 or 5 cars here in PHX, doesn't even seem to be a question when asked to install on the windshield. In 13 years I have never been pulled over for windshield tint, and night driving isn't an issue at all. Only issue is when you get a large enough chip/crack and it needs replacing..Ive had the insurance pay for it once and the other time I had to pay again, but worth it x10 for me.

Most tint shops won't have a problem doing 50% on windshields, at least out here in CA. I had 3M Crystalline 50% on the windshield of my previous vehicle. The rest of my windows were 20% and I never had any cop trouble. Most won't even notice the front windshield. I miss the heat reduction and the looks of 50%. Nighttime visibility is a little less, but it wasn't bad at all.

I'll likely do Llumar Air Blue 80% on the 4Runner because it's cheaper and offers good head reduction for only being 80% tint. It's only a little bit darker and looks better than the OEM windshield (especially when your other windows are tinted and lets less light into the interior).

You can still get legacy plates, just pay more annually.

Yeah original CA black plates were from 1963-1969. They brought them back a couple years ago.

As someone who owned & restored a 1968 Chevy Camaro with original CA black plates, I was/am very much against the new age black plates and have internally protested them. Even though they do look better than standard plates :sadwave:
