Center Console 3 prong plug??

I have a 2011 TE. I purchased the wet okole covers with heated drivers seat. I intended to get an adapter for the three prong plug in the center console to keep it clean looking, and plug the seat heaters cigarette lighter plug into the adapter. I bought an adapter at Radio Shack, and the heaters wouldn't turn on. I assume the adapter isn't kicking enough power. Radio Shack guy suggested going to an auto parts store. Anyone have any suggestions on a product/adapter that would work?? Note: because there's only one cig plug in the cabin, I use that for the cell phone. Multi plug adapters hit the 4/4 gear shift.

I would check your fuses - it's quite possible you popped one when you plugged the heated seat into that socket - the circuit they are on is not designed to carry very much. I suspect you will need to run a circuit specifically for these. I would search here to see if anybody has done it already - it's quite possible the wiring is already there in the harness ready for you to tap into and add a switch to (it costs more to produce various different harnesses than to just leave the odd circuit disconnected on a common harness - many of the early 4th Gens for instance had wiring for heated mirrors even on models that just had std mirrors)

I take it you know about the button to turn it on over on the left side .
What is the wattage of the seat warmers as the center console plug will only handle 100 watts when your moving I believe. Most or all people that I've read just hard wire the seat warmers with switches as there are some open spaces in the fuse box.

Multi plug adapters hit the 4/4 gear shift.

Quick & dirty and does not interfere with the gear shift and gives multiple plugs.

I assume the seats are 12VDC, the outlet in the center console is 120VAC. why would you convert from 12VDC to 120VAC back to 12VDC just to power seats? that makes no sense.

if you need it mounted somewhere else, get one of these Enercell 12VDC Vehicle Power Accessory Outlet : Car Adapters | RadioShack.com and splice it into the 12VDC outlet in the dash. then mount the new outlet under your seat. super stealth like.

you could even just wire that new outlet directly into the fuse box.
