I am not totally familiar with the 4WD system workings, so please forgive ignorance on this matter.
I had my driveshaft replaced under the TSB for the clunk. I have a 2008 6cyl. I have been hearing some metallic clanking sound when I first start up, not usually after that.
I took my truck to a local independent shop convenient to my home where I get occasional work done, I trust the mechanic.
He told me my center diff was totally dry so he added the proper oil. Being a good customer, he didnt even charge me, so I know it wasnt done for the money.
Before I call the local Toyota dealership who did the driveshaft work, does this sound like it could be possible? Any other info that would be useful as far as explaining/complaining would be appreciated.
