Center Differential not locking on '06 SE?

Hello,

I purchased my '06 SE about 3 months ago, I took it off-road once to test to make sure all the 4wd components worked with no problems, and they all did.

Now that we just had this blizzard, I have been trying to lock the center differential every once in a while just to see if it's working, and it's not.

I tried in 4H, 4Lo, in neutral, parked, and driving. No matter what I do, whenever I press the button to lock the differential, nothing happens. No lights indicate whether it's activated.

I read the manual, and did a few searches on here, but I'm not able to get much help.

Anybody have a similar experience?

I believe there's a fuse for it. You should get some indication that it's trying to shift, unless the fuse is blown.

Yeah that's what I was thinking too, it's almost as if the button isn't even connected, no sounds, no beeps, nothing.

No sounds but there should be a flashing dash light that turns solid at lock. If not, like Scott said, check for fuse.

If the fuse is OK, pull the switch and make sure its still connected (plugged in). Some may have pulled the lower panel that holds the switches off, disconnected the switch, & not re-connected it.

Is this the "4x4" fuse under the dash? Or is this fuse in teh engine bay fuse block?

speaking from my own personal experience, it could be the 4WD control module located behind the glove box. mine got some moisture in it, corroded, and died.

Just an update, brought it to Toyota today, it turns out that last time I was there, I was getting the alarm sensitivity adjusted, for some reason they accidentally disconnected the plug for the Center Diff switch.

Spent 15 minutes at the dealership and went on my way, did a few donuts on the way home for fun.
