Central OH 4Runners

Just a quick followup. I am working with the fixed Ops (for service) at the dealership now. He is very interested and is considering being very involved. The big hangup is and always will be, the dealers exposure (read liability). He has mentioned having a "car show" of sorts where they clear out the front of the lot and park the modded rigs up there, with a cookout and perhaps even prizes. its a little ambitious IMO but it all starts with a little excitement.

I'm all for a car-show and cook out, however my 4Runner is hardly car-show material. It badly needs the hood repainted, and doesn't have a single mod on it. Although once the hood is painted and I put a coat of wax on it, it still looks like brand new which is rare for a 15 year old 4Runner.

One thing to understand, dealers get involved for one reason only...they want a larger customer base. In this particular case, I chose to seek out the dealer, not the other way around.

Having helped during the start-up and expansion of both TTORA and TTR, I understand who and what can make a well organized club with benefits for its members. Anyone can start a "club" and do meetings, but my intent is to get a well established Toyota club in the North Central/East US that is supported by manufactures and business. This translates in to better events, more support, bigger network, cooler swag, more members and so on.

To date, I have involved (and gotten a commitment) from Discount tire, Rocktek Customs, and SunRocket (i will explain later). When it is appropriate (after I get a commitment out of the local Toyota dealer) I will broach the conversation with Toytec, Baja, Mombasa, Expedition one, ARB, Iron Man, and even perhaps CBI.

My intent is to set something up that we can enjoy, and we can potentially take advantage of some benefits. I have some work ahead of me and I will have to invest some time and money, but in the end we will have a useful club and a perhaps our own ORV park.

Spotted a silver 3rd gen (I think) with scooped hood, brush guard, lift, and nice black wheels with big AT's. Broad and noe-bixby/Hamilton.

Lots of wilderness, not a lot of public trails...

So, as I've begun digging around the web there doesn't seem to be much in the way of scenic 4X4 trails here in Ohio. Basically, I've gone to other forums and they've directed me to a pay-to-play off-road park which seems more suited for bikes, atv's, and mud-mobiles.

I'm considering planning a camping/wheeling trip out to WV to explore some of the trails out there.

Suggestions?

I'm trying to get ahold of the painted rock ORV park to see if they will host meets for us. If not I know of a few places to wheel but nothing too special. Total of about 200 acres of land and probably about 2 miles worth of trails so far. Should be getting some more trails cut at the main spot I wheel at currently though. Land owner said to do whatever I want with it, take a chainsaw and some log chain and make something worth doing out there...

I'm new to this forum. I didn't think ohio had this many people who have 4runners that like to wheel. I would love to meet up and wheel after I get my rig back together. If anyone is pretty good with ring and pinion I could use some help. I'm located in Washington Court House, OH south of Columbus.

Check out Zig's Auto in Lorain,OH. Not really a specialist in TOYO stuff but he does everything and anything for a very fair price and when I bought my truck he looked at it and said that he did enjoy working on 4Runners. My family and I have been going to him for years for numerous different things and he has never disappointed. He will even wheel and deal for used parts if wanted.

Popping into to say hey to everyone here since I'm new to the area.

I've got a silver '14 Trail w/KDSS and the TRD Pro Grill Garnish and have been running I-70 & I-670 between Huber Heights and Port Columbus Airport every day this week. I'll be doing this for a few months before I grab a place closer to work. I'm almost always on the lookout for other 4Runners and give a four finger wave most of the time I see one.

Lift Install / Mod Day

Anyone interested in a Mod Day on Saturday Oct 24th?

Ill be working on my lift the week of October 19th after work and putting it all together with 35's on Saturday October 24.

Normally it shouldn't take over a day to do it, but I am replacing wheel bearings, all bushings, brake lines, wheel studs, all fasteners and some other small stuff. By Saturday all I should have left is the fun part of putting everything back together.

Would anyone be interested in joining in on Saturday at least? That should be the fun day. Ill supply food and drink

Address is 1512 Meadowlark Ln, in Marysville.

Columbus alignment shops

Any recommendations in Columbus for an alignment shop to provide a proper alignment on a 4th gen?

Just a reminder to everyone that this is this weekend. Come get some pizza and hang out!

I swore I posted in here back when I joined but guess not. So hey everyone! I've been in the area a couple years now and will be for a couple more.

I have a white '14 TEP with a few mods so far and many more planned. See my build thread if you're curious. I see quite a few 5th gens around but only one other one that has any mods. Looking forward to meeting more!

Hey fellow 5th-genner! Hope to see you around the Dayton area. I'll keep my eyes open.

I keep seeing a nice lifted Autumn Blaze 3rd gen at 8am near Marysville heading east on HWY 33 towards Columbus.

Checking in, not really 'central' but more northeast - near New Philly. Just picked up a '14 Trail.

I'll keep an eye on the thread for meets or light to medium off road stuff.

Anyone in the Columbus area with a factory or otherwise inexpensive front/engine skid to fit a 4th gen 2005 V6?
Mine were stolen from my driveway when I had them off to do service. I found a rear skid but still no luck on the front.
Or knowledge of one in a junkyard nearby would work as well.

Hello newbie here

Hi all. New to the forum and I have been lurking for the past couple of weeks. Trying to make the search button my friend. Lol. I just bought an 06 v8 T4R. It has some issues that I'm working on and wanted to reach out for some help. Anyone have a TIS Techstream tool that can help me troubleshoot a TPMS flashing issue? Tire Discounters used a tool to see if the sensors were transmitting and said they were, but I'm still getting the flashing tire idiot light. It's driving me mad! All 5 tires have been inflated to 35 psi.

I would certainly appreciate the assistance! I'm willing to compensate with your favorite beverage of choice!:wink2::whoo:
