Central Va Trails 4.0

How many people from VB are heading up on Saturday for this wheeling trip? I'm trying to find out if anyone wants to convoy or if everyone is good just meeting up in H-burg. If everyone is cool with meeting up in H-burg at 10:30 I may go up Friday to sneak in a second night of camping.

I was going to meet up at Wawa on independence and holland. unless thats not the plan anymore??!

I will be and I've got a buddy from work that will be camping also. Not sure on where yet but it will be near flagpole.

We are looking at camping here Hone Quarry Campground., GPS: 38.46009, -79.13441. I've got a buddy of mine that will be up there tonight to scout it out. Camping is $5 and they have pit toilets.

Well after four hours I finally got all the dog hair, dust, and mud out of and off the truck! Trip was a good one. Rich and I went on to run Flagpole to Switzer Lake and explore Dictum Ridge Sunday which is similar to Taskers Gap but gated at the end so we went back up the way we had come. There are a whole bunch of trails out that way as well as primitive camp grounds if anyone want to explore it in the future.

So I did a little campground research for Saturday the 9th. If we do Flagpole Saturday and then transition towards Big Levels for an early AM start on that trail, this campground is near the trail head for BL. She said they have plenty of tent sites open Saturday night.

[MENTION=57646]Church[/MENTION] Shenandoah campground is awesome and on the way to Big Levels (if they're open) but there are also some great "road side" areas that people camp at from the looks of it. If you are interested, you should call the transfer district in the area and they'll tell you what is and isn't doable!

Let me know if you want me to drive by to check conditions before you guys head out.

Well as I sent you in the text Chuch I'm game to do both days its just a question of if we are camping or not (wifes decision!) I know right now it is showing mixed precipitation on Saturday right now!
