Hey guys and gals!

It is about that time of year again! Lets see if we can get a run going for Fall and maybe plan it for when the leaves are in peak color change for a beautiful ride!

Who is down for that? I know Flagpole will be the easiest run and give us gorgeous views once we are up are there any Places nearby in West Va we could travel to?

I will make a supplement 6.1 thread for voting if we get a couple areas selected to vote between.

Also who knows of reputable sources for us to follow the leaves changing to catch it at the right time?

Was just on Flagpole last weekend with some cousins/friends and it was beautiful!

Might be down depending on the date

Definitely down for Flagpole again. Was a blast the last time.

I might be going to Rausch Creek on November 5th, I haven't fully committed to it yet (would rather go with you guys) but if others are interested in doing that it could be good option?

Well it looks like the prime time is this weekend and next weekend for Flagpole. I'm sorry I haven't kept up with this we have been busy at work and I really don't check this once I get home.

I know it is short notice but is anyone available for this weekend and or next weekend? I will not be able to make it next Saturday the 29th.

Have you guys made plans for the next trip? I'm in defending on the date, with some pre planning I should be able to get leave. Thanks Zap

Cvill- meaning Charlottesville. And where is flagpole? Are there any runs close to Charlottesville?

Hey Bmthompson10 "Flagpole" as it's typically referred to is west of Harrisonburg, VA. Look for Union Springs Road (FSR 225) it goes to Flagpole Knob.

There's a decent amount of trails in the GWNF, take a look at the MVUM here:
https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/gwj/maps-pubs/?cid=fsbdev3_000547 Map 9 shows the trail.

I was up there a few weeks ago and it was a lot more washed out and rocky from my previous time up, definitely "brushed" my underside few times... Going in from Moyers Gap (Briery Branch Road) is definitely easier. YMMV.
