Ceramic Coating, is it worth it??

We recently got our 2021 ORP in black metallic coated and the front protected with PPF/Clear bra.

We chose Artdeshine Nano-Graphene coating and it is SUPER slick! I used to clay/polish/wax my 2004 BMW at least 2 if not 3 times a year. The nano-graphene is hands down way slickerer than that. Hopefully the protectant properties are just as good and will last as long as they say it will.

The PPF? That's another story. The installer didn't do that great of a job and we've had to go back several times to fix it. We'll probably have to go back for another fix soon. What a pain. If you're in the CA Bay Area, don't use Artdeshine/Shine Pros in Concord.

I am however, sold on the PPF protectant. I did a lot of searching on YT for pros and cons and watched a ton of Chicago Auto Pros videos. If only they were local to me.

I have mine professionally ceramic coated and have the entire hood done in Expel clear bra...

Even with that, I have 3 rock chips that WENT ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE CLEAR BRA ON THE HOOD!!!

I was going down the highway about 75 MPH and a Dump Truck pulling a Flat Bed trailer that was COVERED in BIG ROCKS, came bombing out from an on ramp directly in front of me, rocks flying everywhere...

The degree of seething anger I felt as I watched the rocks bouncing off of my hood and cracking my windshield cannot be articulated adequately...

But it's Oklahoma. It will probably happen again next week so you live through it and keep going.

congrats.. its a lot of work and 3 days sounds about right

for the claying process.. take a look at nanoskin products..much faster....

Oddly enough, I tried the nanoskin autoscrub on my DA and ended up going back to the regular clay bar. I found it helps me get a better feel for which areas need more attention and which polishes I'm likely to need on each panel.

unfortunately the hype for anything "ceramic" has inflated people's expectations as well as lead detail shops to charge more than the value you get out of it.


i tried out ceramic coating for the first time when i got the T4R, used Gyeon Q2 Mohs on a friend's recommendation and have found it to be superior in every way to my go to wax (Wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant). the friend that recommended the ceramic coating for it is 2 years into coating his vehicle and water still beads off it

How's your Gyeon Mohs holding up after this time? Curious if you're on this same application, have re-applied or moved onto something else.

I've been using the Klasse AIO/SG for a long time (1 bottle lasts forever), but Mohs looks even more durable and long-lasting, if you can believe everything on the internet lol.

Ceramic. On Toyota paint? It seems the answer is yes. Double yes for single stage nonmetallics.

How's your Gyeon Mohs holding up after this time? Curious if you're on this same application, have re-applied or moved onto something else.

I've been using the Klasse AIO/SG for a long time (1 bottle lasts forever), but Mohs looks even more durable and long-lasting, if you can believe everything on the internet lol.

fantastic, it's been about a year and a half after application. water still beads off every body panel. far superior to any wax i've put on.

granted, i use the Gyeon Q2M Cure after every car wash since it's what they recommend. it's basically a top coat that helps protect the ceramic coat. i use it as the last drying step so it doesn't take any extra time


my previous regimen was the red klasse bottle of polish/sealant with a top coat of wax but once i use that up on my garage queen cars, there's no way i'm going back
