ceramic window tint in cold weather/winter.

Stupid question that i really haven't looked into that much, but do you guys think that the ceramic window tints may actually help retain heat during the winter or would the interior actually be colder due to the way the ceramic coatings work? ...like is the ceramic just reflecting the heat from the sun alone or is it also acting like an insulating layer and if so to what degree?

in somewhere like Washington state where the sun rarely shines during the winter months do you think going with a ceramic tint would keep the inside cooler or hotter during the winter?

i'm back and forth on this one, i just got a new to me 4th gen and i'm looking to tint the fronts and am trying to decide what to go with in regards to ceramic or non-ceramic...

just to be clear adding tint does increase heat retention on some level, i'm just not sure as to what degree, it could be so little that it's not worth considering or it could actually act like the cling flim stuff you put on your windows in the winter to keep heat in...i just duon't know, what is the general consensus here?

I thought any tint would allow in less light energy therefore less heat.

My brother has ceramic tint in his FJ, and it's noticeable during the summer.

I've always thought mine would be warmer in the winter by comparison. Makes sense to me anyway.

The tint will not provide insulation, only UV reflectance.

ceramic all the way, if you use metallic, or dye, which is cheaper. also radio signal will be bad with metallic tints, antenna is built in the rear quarter panel glass.

Radio signal is uninterrupted unless you have your antenna inside the cabin...you'd need to put the tint on the inside of your windows to consider it worthy keeping radiant heat inside as the ceramic tint, from my understanding, only works one-way and not your typical two-way...kinda like the e-coating on residential and commercial windows...
