Certified Pre-Owned 07 4Runner Certification & Sales Concerns. T4R comes with a fair warranty IMO but it cost. I felt the cost should be included in the List Price vs Small Print. I asked Toyota if they would investigate the Dealer’s Certification & Sales procedures. The Dealer’s Service Manager has called and answered every concern so far to my satisfaction due to my inspections on the T4R.
1. He sent the invoice showing the work performed to qualify the T4R as Certified (about 1,600). It was a lot more than I had thought they would do but I had seen most of what was listed doing my inspections. Such as: Extensive detailing inside/outside, minor paint needs seen on post were gone, 4 new tires, new front brake pads & surfaced rotors, oil & filter change, air filter change, and etc..
2. I am asking for a copy and results of the 160 check points, results and repairs to follow-up on.
3. I did purchase an Extended B-T-B Warranty from my date of purchase above Certification , 72 mo/75,000 mi @1,600 from MPP vs Toyota which was miss-represented by the Sales Manager (mainly to try and justify added charges that I w/n buy. Per Toyota, they d/n sale an extension past orig 7 yr/100,000 mi from the date the T4R is put in service vs after market warranties.
4. From my 4 months of research, I got out the door paying the list price + TTL, Ext. Warr cost compatible with the other local Dealers charges. It is time to try and get use to Driving The Monster!
The Bottom-Line! If the Certification is honestly performed the T4R has had a good check-up & repairs +.
