CF lift ?

Why does the shop want to pull the shock and out it into the wall compressor ?

The metal CF spacer bolts to the metal plated with the 3 studs where the shock top goes through. Si its basically a metal on metal think. What benefits does he have in pulling Xreas off and putting it on the wall compressor . The spring just need to be pulled down and the spacer slid in correct and it will be metal on metal and then you put the rubber bushing back in and decompress the spring , correct ??????

Well i'd be curious to hear from a CF owner, but did your kit include longer studs. If so the coil may need to be compressed in order to press out the old studs and insert the new studs. I originally wanted to have my kit installed but every place wanted to use a wall mounted compressor and no one would touch the handheld compressor even if I provided it for their use. I know understand that you can disconnect the xreas at a certain point but at the time did not really want to take a chance in runing the xreas system on a new vehicle. Ultimately I decided it was better off to DIY.

its my understanding that it is safer compress the spring with a wall compressor than a hand compressor...thats the impression I got from the shop around here..

The corn fed spacer replaces the factory top plate on the strut. To remove the top plate you must compress the coil. Either a clamp-type compressor -- can be rented at Autozone -- or a wall-mounted compressor can be used. I've used both in the past and the wall-mounted is the way to go. It's a lot easier and a heck of a lot safer. We didn't have any problems with the clamp-type we rented but I kept picturing it breaking and the coil taking my head off as it rebounded to full length.
