Change the rear springs?

I don't want any kind of lift but I do want to update the suspension on my 2001. I tow a 16' aluminum fishing boat 5-7 times a year but that's all, and this is my DD that's why I want to avoid a lift. I'm pretty sure all the shocks and springs are original, I'm thinking of getting a new set of 99 springs from Autozone and a set of Monroe quick struts for the front. Are the springs from Autozone decent? Any problems I might run into running that combo?

good question, i'm interested to hear answers. im looking to replace my rears as well with future plans of bumpers front and rear, but i dont want/need any lift.

If you tow, get yourself some OME 906 rear springs, transforms the 4runner into a "truck", no more squat, much better ability to handle loads with far greater stability. You'll gain about an inch on the rear, they work very nicely with any of the '96-'99 front springs (later years are lower stock). No downside, still rides very comfortably. If you just change the rear springs, you don't even need an alignment!
