Hey every one I am new here and it was great to finely find a 4runner site. So heres my problem I have a 96 4runner 4x4 auto V-6 and I beleive the transfer case is bad. In 4low it will run through the gears fine but in 4h or 2h it wont move at all. So I start breaking it down but I cant get it apart,maybe I am missing something. Is the area between the transfer case and the trans that has a small oil pan like a transmission part of the transfer case ? If so how do I seperate it from the tranny ? I only found 2 bolts at the bottom connecting it to the tranny, is the upper just on guide pins ? if not please slap the crap out of me and point me in the right direction :bash: am I just totaly missing something here ? Please help me, I have been working on autos most of my life but this is a first for me and before I get the BFH and spud bar on it I want to make sure Ineed to before I ruin the alunimum
