I recently bought front and rear pads and cross drilled front rotors from Stillen. the pads went on without a hitch but when i was going to slap on the rotors they were a bit to big for the dust shield or back plate behind the rotor. Stillen went by rim size and I have a SR5 with 17 in rims. Can anyone help. Ive been to autozone and two toyota dealers and they looked up parts by vin number. does toyota make a bigger brake shield? any help will by greatly appreciated.

I'm guessing they probably gave you the Sport rotors instead of the SR5 rotors.

The SE 4Runners have slightly larger rotors than the SR5 which is why the SE comes with 17" wheels.

I'm pretty sure the calipers are different for the 13.3" (339mm) rotors in addition to several other parts. If you really want to find all of them, www.toyodiy.com might be of assistance.

My .02, get a refund and the proper 12.6" (319mm) rotors for your SR5.

:iagree: All of that info is correct. More than one person with 12.6 has upgraded to 13.3. It requires the bigger rotors, calipers from the SE and a minor tweak/bend of the backplate.
